American Sign Language (ASL)--Intro to Origins & Signs
ASL is a visual/gestural language developed by American deaf people and is part of their culture. In Level I, learn basic vocabulary and sentence structure at the conversational level. ASL is the third most common language in America, used by more than half a million deaf people and many more that interact with them.

American Sign Language--Level II
In Level II continue to learn basic ASL communication. Course includes sign vocabulary, fingerspelling, numbers and expressive and receptive sign activities as well as the history of ASL and becoming knowledgeable of aspects of Deaf Culture which are an integral part of meaningful language use. ASL II is designed to give students a good basis for signed communication and use of ASL 1. Prerequisite: ASL I.
