T0687A : Birdwatching--Evening Birding on the Coast
Registrant: [To be determined]

This is an excellent trip for late rising birdwatchers. Starting at Christmas Bay near Surfside, travel east across the San Luis Pass into Galveston, as the sun sets. The cool evening breezes off the Gulf will make for a pleasant trip to a truly unique area. Look for piping plovers, least terns, black skimmers, magnificent frigatebirds, and more. Birdwatch until the sun sets; then enjoy a seafood dinner before heading home.

Bill Goloby (BS, Texas A&M, Wildlife Science) has led trips for the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, and the Armand Bayou Nature Center.
