With all the advances in photography, including digital cameras, you may wonder if there is any point in learning to operate a conventional film camera. It's still the only way to produce a 'photograph' with all its unique visual appeal. Explore camera functions such as F-stops, depth of field, shutter speeds, exposure values. Learn basic camera functions that apply to both digital and film cameras. Understand photo composition and recognize the qualities of objects or people that make them photogenic. Each student is asked to complete a photo project that is shared with the class at the fourth meeting. NOTE: This class is intended for students who have a 35mm or digital camera that can be manually operated. If you own a camera, please bring it to class. You must attend the first class to come to subsequent classes.
